There is now a wide range of websites and companies offering holiday rental accommodation. Here, we list just a few options which we think you'll like - a large and luxurious one, and a smaller and truly cosy one, and we just couldn't leave out the Cleggan Farm Cottages.

Two-Bed Cottage: Emlough-Rossadilisk
If you pass through Cleggan village, along the Aughrus Peninsula, for 3km (about 1.4 miles), you will come to the turning (to the right) down to the beautiful area of Rossadilisk, with its lovely, flower-filled meadows, its wide strand and sheltered beaches, and the tiny Rossadilisk which provides shelter to fishing currachs and other small boats. Just at the top of that road, and facing it, is a two-bedroomed cottage offered for holiday rental.
It's a lovely cottage, surrounded by secluded gardens, and with a view over Rossadilisk towards the islands of Inishbofin and Inishark. It's in the same grounds as the main house belonging to the owners - but is well secluded from it so that you'll have all the privacy you want! - and this is useful in case you have any queries or needs. You'll find that the owners are the loveliest of people (and we write this from our own direct experience), who will leave you to yourself as much as you need, but will also go out of their way to be pleasant or helpful or just make you feel welcome and at home!In addition to Cleggan village, the cottage is an easy 10-15 minute walk to Claddaghduff, where you'll find Sweeney's shop and Post Office, and the Strand Bar, church, and of course the road leading down to Omey Strand and Omey Island.
The cottage has a comfortable feel to it. It's heated throughout via a solid fuel stove, with the water heated by an immersion. And, unlike most cottage rentals, there are NO extra costs - electricity and turf are provided as part of the rental package, and you'll find there's as much fuel as you'll need, right outside the door. The owners provide all linen, plus towels.
Cleggan Farm Cottages
Opposite Cleggan village, on the other side of Cleggan Bay (easily reached along the causeway road running between the head of the Bay and a freshwater lake), is Cleggan Head. On Cleggan Head, as part of the old stone complex which at one time formed dwellings and other buildings for the farm (and some of it still does, for it's a working farm), are Cleggan Farm Cottages.

The setting is gorgeous, and the cottages themselves are old-world charm, though comfortable and tastefully furnished, and managed with great attention to detail (and friendliness) by Josephine and Greg White Yule. There are six cottages in all, each one named after a bird or an animal - "Wrens", "Otters", "Foxes", "Badgers", "Herons", and "Mallards" (left). One of these will be your comfortable holiday home in this wonderful part of Cleggan.
